Facial Volume Enhancement
Nonsurgical facial volume enhancement requires the use of dermal fillers. Dermal fillers offer long term results for restoring the appearance of aging in the face, delivering improvement in the appearance of fine lines and moderate to severe wrinkles, jowling, nasolabial folds, and fat atrophy in the face and lips.
A Nonsurgical Solution for A More Youthful Looking Appearance
Part of the aging process involves losing a substantial amount of collagen and elasticity in the skin. In addition we experience fat atrophy, a loss of fat in the face. The combination of these two elements can leave us with one or more of the following physical characteristics:
- Drooping, porous, and uneven skin
- Sagging or deflated cheeks
- Hollow eyelids
- Nasolabial folds and jowls
- Thin lips and wrinkles around the mouth
Patients who seek out Appearance Center facial plastic surgeons for volume enhancement with dermal fillers benefit from one or more of the following results:
- Reduced appearance of wrinkles
- Reduced appearance of eye bags
- Fuller, more youthful cheeks and lips
- Reduced appearance of jowls, nasolabial folds, and mouth wrinkles
- An improved self-esteem
If you have or are beginning to see some of these common signs of aging, speak with one of our expertly trained board certified facial plastic surgeons. They will offer you a customized treatment plan to bring you back to a restored and renewed version of yourself.
Your treatment at The Appearance Center will be quick and safe, offering immediate and effective results for a brighter, more youthful appearance.
Combining Facial Volume Enhancement with Additional Treatments
Facial volume enhancement combats the number one sign of aging - volume loss. It is volume loss that leaves our features appearing hollow, wrinkled, and loose. While the results of dermal fillers are quite impressive, there are some additional treatment options our Appearance Center facial plastic surgeons highly recommend incorporating for optimum cosmetic results.
Some of the most common treatment combinations with dermal fillers include:
- Dermal fillers with Botox - for volume in the eyes, cheeks, or lips, an elevated brow, and brighter, more youthful eyes
- Dermal fillers with skin treatments - for a beautifully youthful and symmetrical facial structure and soft, radiant skin
- Dermal fillers with surgical procedures - for enhanced results and maintenance
There are many types of dermal fillers. Your board certified surgeon will choose the most appropriate filler for you, depending on your area of concern, skin type, and cosmetic goals.
Determining Whether You Are a Good Candidate for a Facial Volume Enhancement Consultation
A common misconception of people just beginning to consider their options for aging gracefully, is that the use of dermal fillers for volume enhancement will make them look foreign, fake, or unattractive.
In reality, our faces lose a good amount of natural volume every year. Incorporating the use of fillers in your upkeep routine, is simply replenishing that which has been lost.
Patients who inquire about correction with dermal fillers, typically feel they would like to change or improve upon one or more of the following physical characteristics:
- General signs of aging
- Beginning signs of aging
- Jowls, nasolabial folds, wrinkles around the mouth
- Flattened cheeks
- Hollow or bagging eyelids
- Thin lips
The key to looking natural is finding a qualified surgeon to administer your treatment. He or she will know the anatomical structure of the face and be able to tastefully apply solutions to aging.
If you have or are beginning to see signs of facial aging, contact one of our experienced and friendly cosmetic specialists. They will select a treatment plan perfect for you.
FAQs About Facial Volume Enhancement With Dermal Fillers
Your results will last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. The amount of time depends on a few key factors:
- The area being treated
- Your body's metabolic rate
- The type of filler selected
Your surgeon can provide you with more specific detail at your cosmetic consultation.
Dermal fillers offer immediate results, however, there is a period of slight swelling, and final results are typically noted in a few days, after the swelling subsides. Your physician will usually ask to see you in 2 weeks for a follow up assessment to make sure everything settled to his or her satisfaction.
Patients are numbed with cream and local anesthetic before dermal fillers are administered. If you are very nervous about injections, discuss this with your surgeon. There may be additional accommodations that can be made for your peace of mind and comfort.
Ideally you will not. However, as dermal fillers are injected directly into the face, there is the possibility of bruising. If bruising occurs, it is generally pretty easy to cover with a bit of make up. To be safe, you will want to schedule your filler appointments a week or more before any important event.
